Job Description
The Accounting Staff for BIR Documentation is responsible for ensuring compliance with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) requirements by preparing, maintaining, and submitting accurate documentation and reports. The role involves handling tax filings, monitoring tax-related transactions, and assisting with audits to support the company’s financial and regulatory compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
BIR Compliance - Prepare and file required BIR forms, including VAT, Income Tax, Withholding Tax, and other necessary filings.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax returns and reports.
Documentation and Record-Keeping - Maintain organized and updated records of BIR-related documents, such as tax returns, official receipts, and certificates.
- Ensure proper archiving of all tax-related correspondence and documentation.
Tax Reporting and Reconciliation - Reconcile tax payments and filings with accounting records to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor and verify withholding taxes deducted from vendors and employees.
Coordination and Communication - Liaise with BIR officers for inquiries, audits, and submission requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary documents for tax compliance.
Audit Assistance - Assist in preparing documentation and reports required for BIR audits and assessments.
- Address any discrepancies or issues raised during audits in a timely manner.
Tax Advisory and Updates - Stay updated on changes in tax regulations and BIR guidelines.
- Advise management on compliance requirements and potential impacts of new tax laws.
Other Related Tasks - Support the accounting department with other financial reporting and administrative tasks as needed.
- Participate in the preparation of financial statements related to tax compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Philippine tax regulations and BIR requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications (Excel, Word).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in handling BIR documentation is an advantage.
