“Sharing Our Blessings with the Community” — Highlights from President Hae-Sook Shin’s ‘Sharing Love Handover Ceremony’

Hello from Common Ground Intl. Inc.

We are pleased to share that our recent initiative to support the local community and dedicated missionaries in the Philippines was featured in the news.

Below are the highlights from the ‘Sharing Love Handover Ceremony’ held on July 21, along with the management philosophy of our President, Hae-Sook Shin, who continues to practice quiet yet consistent social giving.

(※ Note: While the original media article mistyped our President’s name as ‘Shin Hye-sook’, the correct Korean and English name of our CEO is Hae-Sook Shin.)

💬 400 Boxes of Warmth: A Heartfelt Moment of Comfort and Connection

On the afternoon of July 21 at 2:00 PM, a ‘Sharing Love Handover Ceremony’ was held at the Common Ground headquarters in Taguig, Philippines, in collaboration with the Council of Korean Missionaries in the Philippines (CKMP, headed by President Sang-Ho Kim).

During the event, a total of 400 boxes of Korean instant noodles were delivered to 13 missionaries who traveled from distant areas, including Pampanga, Antipolo, and Bulacan. Despite long journeys and unfamiliar roads, the attendees shared a warm time of deep encouragement and heartfelt appreciation for the company’s support.

“It is truly meaningful to connect the beautiful tradition of sharing that President Hae-Sook Shin has practiced for a long time with our missionaries.”

“We hope this small gesture of love spreads across various mission fields and bears even greater fruit of warmth and hope.”

🌱 Overcoming Adversity: A Leadership Rooted in Care and Devotion

This outreach was initiated by President Hae-Sook Shin, who wished to support missionaries serving faithfully in challenging environments. Following the handover ceremony, attendees were invited to tour the headquarters and logistics facilities, where President Shin shared her personal journey of faith and perseverance.

In her early years settling in the Philippines, President Shin faced severe hardship after losing everything. Starting from scratch by making and selling homemade kimchi for a living, her humble beginnings laid the strong foundation for what Common Ground is today.

Reflecting on her journey, President Shin shared: “Even during the hardest times, I never stopped praying and helping those who were in greater need than myself. I believe God expanded our business so that we could serve and support even more people.”

Her unwavering commitment to serving others despite adversity has earned her the affectionate title of a ‘Motherly CEO’ within the Korean-Filipino community.

📦 Growing as a Distribution Leader and a Channel of Blessings

What began as a small kimchi business has grown into a thriving enterprise. Today, Common Ground employs approximately 300 staff members and operates expansive warehouse facilities equivalent to several football fields, supplying a wide range of Korean food products across the Philippines.

To accommodate continuous business expansion, the company recently acquired adjacent warehouse space and is currently carrying out renovations to further upgrade its logistics infrastructure. President Shin’s philosophy—prioritizing community outreach alongside commercial growth—serves as a great source of pride for all our employees.

🤝 Preparing for Our Second Handover Event in August

Following this first distribution, Common Ground is preparing for a second ‘Sharing Love Handover Ceremony’ scheduled for August. This upcoming event will extend support to additional regional missionary associations and organizations that could not be included in the first phase.

Common Ground Intl. Inc. will continue to ensure a reliable supply of high-quality Korean food products while actively serving as a channel of blessing by sharing what we receive with our neighbors and local community.

Thank you for your warm interest and ongoing support.

Warm regards,

Common Ground Intl. Inc.
